How cooperative driving can reduce traffic jams: unique demonstration on highway A270 in the Netherlands
Ghost traffic jams are the greatest cause of congestion in the Netherlands. In a unique and large-scale experiment TNO, within the SPITS-project context, demonstrates that these causes of traffic jams can be minimized when systems are introduced which can communicate which each other with respect to acceleration, speed and position.
